The lady Redbirds scored a 74-68 victory over Pequot Lakes Thursday night to complete the season sweep.
After producing a season-low 30 points in a loss to Crosby-Ironton a week ago, Staples-Motley scored 36 by halftime in its eighth victory in nine tries within the Mid-State Conference.
MiKayla Wing tallied a season-best 23 points to pace a Cardinals offense that averages 69 points per game.
Mattie Lueck and her 28 points and Kayla Miller’s 20 kept the Patriots close throughout the game, but Wing’s performance and 26 made free throws (in 40 attempts) were enough to lift Staples-Motley to 15-4 overall.
S-M also won the first tilt 78-52 back on Jan. 3 to end a four game losing streak in Pequot Lakes.
